Such aggression may come about because of the maturity of the wolf. As a wolf matures, so does its brains. In all, wolves tend to have larger brains than dogs. Hence, it shouldn't be a surprise that wolves have bigger heads than dogs. Wolves also have the ability to travel great distances at high speeds because of their long legs and graceful body. Dogs however have short legs in comparison to their body size and tend to look clumsy as they run.
